I have been having symptoms, hot flashes, night sweats, vaginal dryness for about 4 or 5 years, but I have managed them with birth control. My doctor wants me to start hormone replacment. If your ovaries are still intact, then you shouldn't experience menopause immediately. Research suggests that having a hysterectomy can bring on menopause a few years earlier than in women who have not had one. Take care. (Sorry for the delay in answering.
